Makai Skin Care — Review

How many of you know that when the seasons change its time to change your skin care products?

I’m sure most of you have experienced that the colder it gets, the drier your skin feels. My skin tends to get super dry in the fall and winter months and needs some extra tender love and care (TLC).

For those of you that don’t know me, one of the things I’m serious about is my facial regimen. When I say I take care of my face, it’s an understatement. No matter how late I stay out, I make sure I wash my face before I go to bed. My body on the other hand gets forgotten at times and is always craving for some extra attention.

So when Makai sent me their Tsubaki Oil body products to try and review, I was super excited. It forced me to take care of my body, I learned about organic skin care in the process and it’s my first ever review blog post!! YAY!!

That feeling you have when you're super excited!! Side Note: Isn't she the cutest little thing!

I received the E2 Micro Scrub, R3 Body Wash and Bubble Bath, R2 Body Lotion all with Tsubaki Oil and Tsubaki oil that can be used on your body and face.

I used all the products every day for a little over two weeks, and my review is based on that experience.

Before we dive into the review though, I’m sure you want to know what Tsubaki even is:

It means Camellia flower in Japanese and is an anti-aging botanical blend that provides soft and radiant skin without the greasy feel.

This is just what I needed for my body.

What’s Good About It?

It makes my body feel so smooth and silky. I love mixing the body lotion with Tsubaki oil and seeing this natural glow to my skin. Free of Sulfate, Paraben, Mineral oils and Phthalate, the products are mostly all organic (except for the Grape seed and Coconut oil). The portion sizes are great for the price, and they are always running great deals. The entire line smells of different essential oils.

What Did I Not Like?

I wish they had different scents available.

What’s Their Story?

Makai was founded by a mother/daughter team (LOVE supporting women-owned businesses) who wanted healthier and more affordable organic skin care for their children and themselves.

How Affordable Are The Products?

Considering the botanical blends that are used to create each product, I’d say very affordable.

11oz Body wash and Body lotion- $20.00 each

2oz Tsubaki Oil- $24.00

7oz Body Scrub- $22.00

They also have spa sets available with the four products for $69.00.

Most Definitely! I am really happy with the results. As a busy mom of three, I am always on the run and Makai provides exactly what I need to keep my skin feeling hydrated and rejuvenated.

As always, I’d love to from you! What skin care products are you using this season?
